The Fifth Annual Geology Days Conference
Saratoga Springs, NY - November 11th-13th, 2026
Early Bird Registration is open through July 31st
Regular Registration - August 1st - November 1st
Continuing Education
Similar to last year, at minimum 12 Professional Development Hour (PDH) opportunities are expected to be made available through presentations. Multiple segments will be offered to present various topics; presentations will focus on common practice issues and will also inform PGs who are mentoring others, endorsing geological work experience, or assisting staff in applying for licensure.
Optional Events
In addition to the Technical Program, two local technical field trips and a short course are available on the registration form. Please note that there will not be a scheduled dinner to allow attendees to enjoy an additional evening in Saratoga Springs.
Short Course
The short course topic for this fall is Borehole Geophysics and Hydrogeologic Characterization for Multilevel Well Design and Construction, presented by Robert Garfield, P.G. of Hager-Richter Geoscience, Inc. and John Dougherty, P.G. of CDM Smith. This course will take place on Wednesday, November 11th from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM, includes a welcome snack and coffee in addition to lunch, and is currently pending to provide an opportunity to earn 4 PDH credits. Those interested in attending this course may choose to attend for or without PDH credit. If you would like to only attend the short course rather than the entire conference, register at the button below.
Field Trips
Field Trips will take place from 7:30 AM - approximately 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 12th and Friday, November 13th. Each field trip is pending to provide at minimum 3 PDH credits.
The Thursday Field Trip; From Folds to Flows: Characterization of Complex Geologic Settings in New York, will be led by Andrew Kozlowski, Ph.D., P.G. of NYSGS. This walking tour will review the complex geologic framework and processes of the intersection between glaciation and ancient tectonics in Southeastern Albany County. Sturdy footwear is recommended, as well as layers, depending on the weather.
The Friday Field Trip; Amrize (former Lafarge) Ravena Quarry and Plant Tour, will be led by Kayla Widner & Brian Soeffing of Amrize. This tour of an active quarry will provide insight into the current cement-making process from extraction to processing to the testing of finished product. Personal Protective Equipment may be needed for this tour; additional information will be provided to attendees as required.
